She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society (ANZVS) and the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Diseases.
Vulval dermatology refers to disorders of the female genital skin
Conditions assessed and treated include disorders which cause itching, pain, or rash of the vulval skin including:
- Eczema/dermatitis
- Psoriasis
- Chronic candidiasis
- Lichen sclerosus
- Lichen planus
- Genital ulcers
- Hidradenitis suppurativa
Lesions (“lumps and bumps”) and pigmentation of the vulval skin are also common reasons for referral.
Dr Drummond also assesses and coordinates management of vulval pain (vulvodynia, vestibulitis, dysaesthesia). These conditions often need multidisciplinary management.
If required, further referral may be made to physiotherapists, psychologists, gynaecologists or your general practitioner.
Dr Drummond sees women with vulval problems at her private practice in Canberra and Moruya.
