General Dermatology

Dr Drummond treats general conditions of the skin, hair and nails including:

  • Rashes of all types
  • Eczema/dermatitis, psoriasis
  • Skin infections
  • Acne
  • Rosacea
  • Pigmentation disorders
  • Alopecia (hair loss)
  • Skin cancer and mole checks
  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
  • Skin cancer excisions

Services offered include cryotherapy, curettage and diathermy, excision of benign and malignant lesions, biopsy of rashes, patch testing, botulinum toxin for axillary hyperhidrosis and biologic treatment for psoriasis (if PBS prescribing criteria fulfilled).

Drummond Dermatology does not offer phototherapy or daylight photodynamic therapy (PDT).

As a general rule Dr Drummond does not offer treatments for cosmetic issues, warts or seborrheic keratoses (senile warts).

A problem may be considered inappropriate for private practice care due to complexity or logistical issues. If this is the case Dr Drummond may suggest referral to one of the outpatient clinics at Canberra Hospital.

Patients with general dermatology problems are seen at Drummond Dermatology in Phillip ACT, or on the NSW South Coast at the Queen St Medical Centre, Moruya.

Referrals are triaged and appointments offered according to CLINICAL urgency. Priority appointments are given to patients with urgent problems, as assessed by Dr Drummond.

Due to the high demand for services it may not be possible to offer an appointment in an appropriate time frame. At times the referral letter does not provide enough clinical information about the severity or urgency of the skin issue. You will be advised if we are unable to offer you an appointment.

Please note that you are not a patient of the practice until the referral has been accepted and an appointment scheduled. A future appointment can be cancelled if our staff are treated with disrespect.
